MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Leading her team to two conference wins, Antoinette Reames (Orlando, Fla.), senior forward of the Georgia College & State University women's basketball team (10-4, 3-1), was named GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 17. This marks the first such honor for Reames in her history at Georgia College.
Reames recorded 25 points, 22 rebounds and six blocks in the two victories. The 6-foot-1 post player was lights out Jan. 13 against Georgia Southwestern State University with 16 points and 17 boards, collecting her fourth double-double of the season, leading the Bobcats over the Hurricanes 66-48. Her five swats set a school record with 96 career blocks. In the game at Armstrong Atlantic State University, Reames put up nine points and snagged five rebounds, while recording one block in a 58-50 win.
Georgia College is back in action today, Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m. on the road against Columbus State University.
