MARTINEZ, Ga. - The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 93 Georgia College & State University student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2009-10 academic year.

Women’s Basketball Program Enters New Era with the Retirement of a Legendary Coach
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College & State University Department of Athletics announced today that head women’s basketball coach John Carrick has decided to retire and will not return for the 2010-11 season. Carrick, who had been head coach for 27 years, officially retired from full-time employment at the university in 2007 but continued to coach the team on a part-time basis.

The Bobcat bench powered the scoring, netting a 41-9 advantage over the Buccaneers.

GCSU Women’s Hoops Falls 73-50 at D-1 Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. – Despite an explosive second half start by the Georgia College & State University women’s basketball team, the Bobcats were unable to recover from being down 40-18 in the first half, losing 73-50. Georgia College did have two players score in double digits as juniors Dominique Huffin (Tucker, Ga.) and Chimere Jordan (Gray, Ga.) had strong showings, scoring 16 and 10 respectively.
