MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University women's basketball team swept two games at the Craig Massee Real Estate Classic this week, beating both No. 25 Wingate University and Newberry College. The Bobcats picked up two spots on the five-member All-Tournament team as well.
Brantley scored 10 points in the win over Wingate, adding a double-double in today's Newberry victory with 11 points and 12 boards. Reames opened the tournament with an outstanding line, nearing a triple-double with 15 points 13 rebounds and a school-record tying seven blocks. She added eight points in today's win.
Joining the Bobcat duo were Wingate's Anna Atkinson, UNC Pembroke's Lavontay Johnson and Newberry's Monica Alexander.
Atkinson averaged 12.0 points over the two games, including 19 in today's win over UNC Pembroke. Johnson averaged 10 points and 6.5 boards in the two games, and Alexander exploded for a tournament-high 22 points in the opening contest against UNCP.
