MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Senior forward Tiauna Brantley (Woodstock, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University women's basketball team (2-3, 0-1 PBC) was named the GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Dec. 21, the sports information office announced today (Dec. 23). This is the second such honor for Brantley and the third for the Bobcat women's basketball team this season.
Brantley poured in a career-high 20 points in the last-second loss at Augusta State University Dec. 15. The senior was 9-of-14 from the floor, yanked down nine rebounds and nabbed five steals for a complete-game effort.
The Bobcats are back in action Monday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m., hosting No. 25 Wingate University in game two of the Craig Massee Real Estate Classic.
The GCSU Department of Athletics sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
