MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Sophomore guard Mandi Dudish (Snellville, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University women's basketball team (5-4, 0-2 PBC) was named the GCSU Athlete of the Week for the week ending Jan. 4, the sports information office announced today (Jan. 6). This is the first such honor for Dudish and the fourth for the Bobcat women's basketball team this season.
Dudish buzzed the nets for a career-high 21 points in two of the three games, wins over Newberry College and Valdosta State University, helping the Bobcats to a three-game win streak. The sophomore three-point sharpshooter hit seven threes against Valdosta State, tying the school record. In the Jan. 3 win over VSU, she also upped the defensive intensity, carding a career-high four blocks. She hit for five points with five rebounds in the win over No. 25 Wingate University. Dudish now has three 20-point games this season.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 5:30 p.m., traveling to North Georgia College & State University.
