by Tyler Peck, sports information graduate assistant

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Women's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team was announced today (Oct. 31) by the Peach Belt Conference (PBC). Sophomore Dominique Huffin (Tucker, Ga.) was the recipient from Georgia College & State University to make the five-player team. The sports information directors from around the league make the selections.

Huffin was named 2007-08 PBC Freshman of the Year after an explosive 13.9 points per game. The Tucker, Ga. native boosted her scoring average to 15.2 ppg against PBC foes. Huffin, ranked 11th in scoring in the league, chalked up a Georgia College home-court record 41 points against Lander, the highest single-game point sum put up by any PBC player last season

The Lady ‘Cats begin the season Nov. 15 against the University of Mobile in the annual Columbus State University Tip-Off Classic. Georgia College looks to improve after a disappointing 13-15, 8-12 PBC record last year. John Carrick will undertake what will be his 26th year of coaching at Georgia College, which was selected ninth in the Preseason PBC Poll.
