MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) recently announced the CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams for softball, with a trio of Georgia College student-athletes making the list.

Senior Faith Flanders (Dublin) and juniors Hannah Coursey (Sugar Hill) and Holland Coursey (Sugar Hill) all earned slots on the All-District Team.

In the infield, Hannah Coursey owns a 4.0 GPA in accounting and Flanders has a 3.62 in exercise science. Outfielder Holland Coursey boasts a 3.96 GPA in the outfield. These three Bobcats have the first, second and ninth highest GPAs on this year's District 3 Division II Team.

All-time, 12 Georgia College players have taken Academic All-District nods, the most recent being  Hannah Coursey and Baylee Hall in 2016.

The three honorees gives the Bobcats the most student-athletes on this year's team.

The Academic All-District™ teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the fifth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.

The Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2016-17 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.

First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
