INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA released the second round of Division II Softball Region Rankings Wednesday, with Georgia College (30-19) positioned No. 9 in the Southeast Region.
With the scheduled season wrapped up, the Bobcats are ninth in the region behind four league schools. The University of North Georgia takes the top slot, followed by Armstrong State University and Limestone College of the Conference Carolinas (CC) fourth. The South Atlantic Conference (SAC) is represented by Carson-Newman University in fourth and then Lenoir-Rhyne University in fifth, followed by Young Harris College from the PBC. Pfeiffer University of the CC comes in seventh, with the PBC's Flagler College in front of the Bobcats. Anderson University of the SAC rounds out the top-10.
The final version of this poll is used to determine the five at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament, beginning May 12. The region has three automatic bids, given to the tournament champions for the PBC, SAC and CC, and the five remaining slots are filled by the final version of this poll.
