AUGUSTA , Ga.
– The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced the 2013
Softball Preseason All-PBC Team with Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.) being named as
an outfielder and Danielle Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) being named
in the utility position.
Okvist is coming off of a season where she finished with 52 stolen bases in as many tries, third in the nation. She was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American First Team and All-PBC First Team. She led the Bobcats during the 2012 season in batting average hitting a .413 clip. The junior outfielder already holds the Georgia College record in career steals with 76.
Gallucci had her 2012 season shortened by injury, but appeared in 29 games as a hitter and five in the circle. The senior hit 343 over 70 at-bats with two home runs and 17 RBI. As a pitcher, Gallucci started two games, had a 4.53 ERA and struck out 6.18 batters per game.
Georgia College will start their season Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. when they host the 2013 Bobcat Blast at the Peeler Complex on West Campus.
