MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball program and head coach Jamie Grodecki are proud to announce the addition of Taylor Campbell for the 2013 season.
A three-time All-Middle Georgia Honorable Mention, Campbell showed versatility, playing third base, shortstop, outfield, pitcher and catcher for Northside High School in Warner Robins, Ga.
“We are very excited about the addition of Taylor to our roster,” said Grodecki. “She has shown to be a very versatile athlete, which always makes for a successful athlete. She is a good student as well, and I know she will represent GC well both on and off the field.”
A .474 hitter in her senior season, Campbell earned All-Region and All-County honors in each of her final three seasons. In 2011, she posted the highest batting average in the region. She plans to major in exercise science.
The Bobcats showed much improvement in 2012, finishing 25-24 with a 9-11 PBC mark, good for seventh and a PBC playoff spot after holding the top spot in the conference standings early in the season. GC put three players on the all-conference and all-region teams, including an All-American in Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.).
