Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) was awarded the Bobcat
Athlete of the Week after her pitching performances for Georgia
College softball (14-10, 2-2 PBC) helped secure 1-0 victories over
both Fort Valley State University and Francis Marion
Gallucci tossed 15 shutout innings between her two starts in the pitcher circle this past week, allowing a mere seven hits while walking none and striking out 16.
The senior’s highlight of the week came from the Francis Marion game in which she threw an extra inning shutout. Gallucci struck out seven batters while holding the Patriots to just four hits in her eight innings as pitcher.
Gallucci’s impressive performance in her two games improved her record to 4-3 and helped lower her ERA to 1.03 on the season.
She has not allowed a run in her last 16 innings and has an active 18-inning streak of no earned runs.
Georgia College softball will compete next against Georgia Southwestern University Wednesday, March 6 at 4 p.m.
