The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.
GC Softball Assistant Named Head Coach at UNCPPEMBROKE, N.C. – Athletics department officials at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced Tuesday morning that Brittany Bennett - who helped lead Georgia College to a spot in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship game in April - has been named the school's 10th softball head coach.
Bellantoni and Humphries Earn PBC All-Academic Honorable MentionAUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) recently released the 2013 Softball All-Academic team as senior Natalie Bellantoni (Oviedo, Fla.) and sophomore Kristen Humphries (Columbus, Ga.) of the Georgia College softball team (37-17) each earned honorable mentions. This is the third year in a row that Georgia College has had representatives on the PBC All-Academic team.

Okvist Named to Louisville Slugger NFCA All-Region TeamLOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville Slugger National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region team was recently announced and Georgia College junior outfielder Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.) was named to the second team in the Southeast Region. Okvist becomes just the second two-time NFCA All-Region outfielder for the Bobcats.
Late Inning Rally Comes Up Just Short, Bobcats Lose to Trojans 7-5HICKORY, N.C. – Less than 24-hours after they defeated the No. 2-seed and host team, Lenoir-Rhyne University, the No. 7-seed Georgia College softball team (37-16) returned to the field to take on the No 6-seed Anderson University (39-13). The Trojans jumped out to an early lead and despite a late inning rally by the Bobcats, Anderson held on for a 7-5 victory.

Bobcats Drop Championship Game, Finish Second in PBC TournamentST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Georgia College softball team (36-15) entered the semifinal round of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Sunday afternoon facing USC Aiken (25-21). The Bobcats finished with a 4-3 walk-off victory, their second of that variety in as many days. They would return to the field less than an hour later to battle Columbus State University (39-16) for the PBC Title, but the Bobcats would drop the game by a score of 12-0.
Campbell Blast ends Pitcher’s Duel, 2-1ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 2-seed Georgia College softball team (35-14) entered the bottom of the 11th inning locked in a 1-1 tie with No. 7-seed Francis Marion University (25-25) when freshman Taylor Campbell (Warner Robbins, Ga.) stepped into the batter’s box. Campbell came to the plate with one out in the inning and after fouling off the first pitch she deposited the next one over the left field fence for the win.
Grodecki Earns Coach of the Year, Three Bobcats Named All-PBCST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced the end of season awards for softball at the pre-tournament banquet Friday evening and four members of the Georgia College softball team (34-14) were given accolades. Junior Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.) and senior Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) were named All-PBC First Team while freshman Abi LeRoy (Dublin, Ga.) was named to the second team. Head coach Jamie Grodecki rounded out the Bobcat awards as she was named PBC Coach of the Year.
GC Softball Earns National RankLOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Georgia College softball team (30-12, 12-4 PBC) has earned its first spot in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Rankings coming in at No. 21. The Bobcats surged into the top-25 after sweeping then-No. 19 Columbus State University in a pair of road games last week.
#21 Bobcats Outlast Pacers in Marathon Second Game, Sweep 7-4 and 4-3MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. Bobcats Split #6 Saints, Win Game One 5-4MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball team (26-12, 10-4 PBC) defeated their fourth ranked opponent of the season Thursday evening when they came away with a 5-4 victory over No.6 University of North Georgia (26-7, 6-2 PBC) in game one. In the second game the two teams were deadlocked 0-0 going into the sixth inning, but the Saints pulled ahead late and won 4-0.
