Georgia College Athletics Puts 96 on PBC Presidential Honor Roll
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 96 Georgia College student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2012-13 academic year.

PEMBROKE, N.C. – Athletics department officials at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke announced Tuesday morning that Brittany Bennett - who helped lead Georgia College to a spot in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship game in April - has been named the school's 10th softball head coach.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Georgia College department of athletics finished in the top-100 of the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings this season, taking 86th in postseason finishes among 255 NCAA Division II schools.

Bellantoni and Humphries Earn PBC All-Academic Honorable Mention
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) recently released the 2013 Softball All-Academic team as senior Natalie Bellantoni (Oviedo, Fla.) and sophomore Kristen Humphries (Columbus, Ga.) of the Georgia College softball team (37-17) each earned honorable mentions. This is the third year in a row that Georgia College has had representatives on the PBC All-Academic team.

Okvist Named to Louisville Slugger NFCA All-Region Team
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Louisville Slugger National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region team was recently announced and Georgia College junior outfielder Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.) was named to the second team in the Southeast Region. Okvist becomes just the second two-time NFCA All-Region outfielder for the Bobcats.

Late Inning Rally Comes Up Just Short, Bobcats Lose to Trojans 7-5
HICKORY, N.C. – Less than 24-hours after they defeated the No. 2-seed and host team, Lenoir-Rhyne University, the No. 7-seed Georgia College softball team (37-16) returned to the field to take on the No 6-seed Anderson University (39-13). The Trojans jumped out to an early lead and despite a late inning rally by the Bobcats, Anderson held on for a 7-5 victory.

Bobcats Lose to Bears 4-3, Finish Season with Fourth-Most Wins in School History
HICKORY, N.C. – The Georgia College softball team (37-17) returned to the field for their second game Saturday, May 11, this time taking on the host team of Lenoir-Rhyne University (37-15). It was the second time the two teams faced off in as many days. The Bobcats would take a lead early, but fall short in the end, 4-3.

Bobcat Softball Surprises Bears, Runs Away with Opening Round Game 10-1
HICKORY, N.C. – The No. 7-seed Georgia College softball team (37-15) came up successful on its trip to the NCAA Southeast Subregional for the first time since 2009, taking on host and No. 2-seed Lenoir-Rhyne University (35-15). The Bobcats started off the 2013 tournament with a bang, scoring multiple runs in innings four times and defeating the Bears by a score of 10-1.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – After they complete action in the NCAA Southeast Regional this weekend the Georgia College softball team will hold open tryouts at the Peeler Complex Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. All Interested participants should read the instruction form and must complete all steps by Monday, May 13 to be eligible for tryout.

Gallucci Named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for Fifth Time
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – For her efforts in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament senior Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) of the No. 24 Georgia College softball team (36-15) has been named Bobcat Athlete of the Week for the fifth time during the 2013 season. Gallucci now sits tied with Shanteona Keys (Roswell, Ga.) of GC women’s basketball for the most times honored during the 2012-13 school year.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Three members of the Georgia College softball team (36-15) were named to the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) All-Tournament Team. The second seeded Bobcats recently finished runner up in the championship game against Columbus State University.

Bobcats Drop Championship Game, Finish Second in PBC Tournament
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Georgia College softball team (36-15) entered the semifinal round of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament Sunday afternoon facing USC Aiken (25-21). The Bobcats finished with a 4-3 walk-off victory, their second of that variety in as many days. They would return to the field less than an hour later to battle Columbus State University (39-16) for the PBC Title, but the Bobcats would drop the game by a score of 12-0.

Campbell Blast ends Pitcher’s Duel, 2-1
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 2-seed Georgia College softball team (35-14) entered the bottom of the 11th inning locked in a 1-1 tie with No. 7-seed Francis Marion University (25-25) when freshman Taylor Campbell (Warner Robbins, Ga.) stepped into the batter’s box. Campbell came to the plate with one out in the inning and after fouling off the first pitch she deposited the next one over the left field fence for the win.

Grodecki Earns Coach of the Year, Three Bobcats Named All-PBC
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced the end of season awards for softball at the pre-tournament banquet Friday evening and four members of the Georgia College softball team (34-14) were given accolades. Junior Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.) and senior Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) were named All-PBC First Team while freshman Abi LeRoy (Dublin, Ga.) was named to the second team. Head coach Jamie Grodecki rounded out the Bobcat awards as she was named PBC Coach of the Year.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball team (34-14) enters the 2013 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament with the highest seed for the program since 2009. The single elimination tournament is hosted by Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla. and pits the top eight softball teams in the PBC against each other.

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 21 Georgia College softball team (34-16, 16-6 PBC) dropped both games against the No. 3 Armstrong Pirates to end the regular season Tuesday afternoon. With the losses the Bobcats finish the regular season in a tie for second place in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) with No. 6 University of North Georgia.

The Bobcats surged into the top-25 after sweeping then-No. 19 Columbus State University in a pair of road games last week.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. The No. 21 Georgia College softball team (32-12, 14-4 PBC) faced off against the USC Aiken Pacers (22-20-1, 9-11 PBC) Wednesday evening and the Bobcats came away with the sweep, including a 12-inning 4-3 win in the second game. The Bobcats won the first game of the evening 7-4 at the Peeler Complex.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Senior Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) earned a win in game one and a save in game two Tuesday evening. She pitched 10 innings while allowing only one run on five hits and striking out 13 batters between the two games as the Georgia College softball team (30-12, 12-4 PBC) swept No. 22 Columbus State University (29-13, 10-4 PBC) by scores of 2-1 and 4-3.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) doubleheader between the Georgia College softball team (28-12, 10-4 PBC) and No. 19 Columbus State University (29-11, 10-2 PBC) originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 3 at 4 p.m. has been moved to Tuesday, April 2 at 4 p.m. The games will still be played at Cougar Field in Columbus, Ga.

BREVARD, N.C. – The Georgia College softball team (28-12) returned to the field after two different sets of games were postponed in the last week. The Bobcats scored three runs in the eighth inning to win 5-2 in game one and came away with the 6-2 victory in game two.

SAVANNAH Ga. – The doubleheader between the Georgia College softball team (26-12, 10-4 PBC) and the No. 4 Armstrong Pirates (22-3-1, 5-1 PBC) originally scheduled for Saturday, March 23 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 16 due to expected rain.

Bobcats Split #6 Saints, Win Game One 5-4
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball team (26-12, 10-4 PBC) defeated their fourth ranked opponent of the season Thursday evening when they came away with a 5-4 victory over No.6 University of North Georgia (26-7, 6-2 PBC) in game one. In the second game the two teams were deadlocked 0-0 going into the sixth inning, but the Saints pulled ahead late and won 4-0.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – A pair of pitching duels secured the Georgia College softball team (25-11, 9-3 PBC) wins No. 24 and 25 of the year as they took on the UNC Pembroke Lady Braves (14-18, 1-5 PBC) Saturday at the Peeler Complex. The Bobcats were led by Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) in game one as they won 2-1 and Marisa Boyette (Marietta, Ga.) in game two as the Bobcats came back to win 4-3.

The Bobcats scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to win the first game 8-6 and ran away with the second game 7-0.

Dani Gallucci (Orlando, Fla.) led the Bobcats to a 2-1 victory in the first game of the afternoon.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball team (14-10, 2-2 PBC) split the doubleheader matchup against Francis Marion University (13-7, 1-1 PBC) Sunday afternoon at the Peeler Complex. The Bobcats came out on top of a 1-0 pitchers duel in the first game, but then the Patriots jumped to an early lead in game two and finished with the 6-1 victory.

FLORENCE, Ala. – The Georgia College softball team (10-8) came out on top in both games during the second day of the University of North Alabama hosted UNA Invitational. The Bobcats came from behind in the first game as they took down their third ranked opponent of the year in No. 24 University of Alabama at Huntsville 7-6. The bats continued in the second game, as the Bobcats came away with a 12-0 four-inning victory over the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

The Bobcats came away with a decisive 11-3 victory over Lynn University during the Triton Spring Invitational in Clearwater, Fla. which resulted in the 100th career win for Grodecki.

The Bobcats lost game one against Nova Southeastern University (4-1) 4-0 and fell to host Eckerd College (4-1) in the final at-bat in game two 6-5.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball team (4-0) took both games against Queens Univeristy (1-3) Sunday evening, winning the first game by a 9-1 run rule in five innings and then taking a 6-4 extra innings win in the second game. The 4-0 start is the best for any Georgia College softball team since the 2007 season.
