Georgia College Athletics Puts 80 on PBC Presidential Honor Roll
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 80 Georgia College student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2011-12 academic year.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball team (25-24) put three players on the Daktronics All-Southeast Region Teams, the organization announced Monday. Outfielder Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.) and designated player Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.) earned First Team honors, while Kelsea Martin (Dacula, Ga.) was on the Second Team at utility.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Senior righthander Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.) continues to have a resurgence in the ring for her final season for Georgia College softball (19-13, 6-2 PBC), shutting out Augusta State University (23-7, 6-2 PBC) Saturday to help the Bobcats earn a doubleheader split. ASU won game one 6-0 before the 3-0 GC victory.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball squad (17-11. 4-0 PBC) swept the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes (12-12, 0-2 PBC) at the Peeler Complex Sunday afternoon, 9-5 and 3-2. The Bobcats start 4-0 in conference for the first time since 2003, when they started 6-0 in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC).

Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.) aided the Bobcats going 4-for-7, including a grand slam in the first game and a complete-game pitching performance in the second.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball program and head coach Jamie Grodecki are pleased to announce the release of the 2012 schedule. The Bobcats finished 15-35 in 2011. Nine of the Bobcats’ 15 wins came within the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), as GC posted a strong finish to the season.
