MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College softball (15-35, 9-11 PBC) senior Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.) garnered Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference honors, as announced by the conference office Tuesday, Jan. 24.
Burnett was awarded the designated player position on the preseason team. She was named to the All-PBC First Team and the Daktronics All-Region Team after the 2011 season. Burnett played in 50 games, starting 49 for the Bobcats.
Burnett led the Bobcats in four major categories on offense, average (.385), home runs (9), RBI (37) and slugging percentage (.623). She also accumulated 50 hits, 19 runs scored and 34 walks. Burnett’s on-base percentage was .515 and she was 4-of-4 on stolen bags.
The Bobcats open up Saturday, Feb. 4 hosting the Bobcat Bash Tournament and facing off against Queens University in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
