MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College softball junior pitcher Sabrina Chandler (Covington, Ga.) garnered her second Georgia College Athlete of the Week Award of the 2011 season.
The junior righty was brilliant in the Bobcats’ opening round upset of No. 3-seed Columbus State University in the PBC Tournament. Chandler went the distance allowing just one run, while scattering four hits in only 85 pitches. She also threw for GC in their season finale, keeping them in the game with a 5 1/3 inning, four run performance in the loss.
It was a magical run for the Bobcats down the stretch, as they won three of their last five games to end the season. GC shocked No. 3-seed Columbus State 3-1 in the first round of the PBC Tournament, before falling to No. 2-seed Armstrong Atlantic, 4-2 and No. 5-seed Augusta State University, 6-0.
