MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Junior slugger Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.) keeps adding accolades to an already stellar junior season. The Georgia College softball designated player was named to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region First Team, as announced Monday.

All-time, GC has put 10 players on the Daktronics All-Region teams. Burnett becomes the second Bobcat at designated player, as Jordan Tharp took second-team honors in 2007.
Burnett will now move on to the All-America ballot, with winners due to be announced May 25. Three Bobcats have earned Daktronics All-America accolades.
The Daktronics All-America programs honor student-athletes in Division II athletic programs. The voting, nomination and calculations are all conducted by the schools’ sports information directors.
The Bobcats had a strong finish to a sub-par season in 2011, winning three of their last four to get into the PBC playoffs, then upsetting No. 3-seed Columbus State University in the first round. The 'Cats will bring back three All-PBC performers next year in Burnett, Anna Parker (Columbus, Ga.) and Whitney Okvist (Kennesaw, Ga.).
