MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College softball program and head coach Jamie Madewell-Grodecki have announced their schedule for the second Annual Mid-South Classic Division II Softball Tournament, set to take place March 4-6, 2011 in Spartanburg, S.C.
The Bobcats will play a total of four games, two Saturday, March 5 followed by another doubleheader Sunday, March 6. The first contest will pair GC against Fairmont State University at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, with the second matchup taking place at 7 p.m. against the Bulldogs of Wingate University.
The second day of double-dips begins at 11 a.m. Sunday morning when the Bobcats square off against Newberry College. Georgia College completes its tournament slate immediately following the morning game against Coker College at 1 p.m.
All contests throughout the tournament will take place at 295 Sports Complex in Spartanburg, S.C.
The Bobcats return numerous starters from last years young squad, including junior Haley Burnett (Columbus, Ga.), a standout both at the plate and on the mound.
Georgia College opens the season Friday, Feb. 4 vs. Albany State University at 2 p.m. as part of the GSW Tournament in Americus, Ga.
