FLORENCE, S.C. - The No. 6-seeded Georgia College softball team (15-33) knocked-off No. 3-seed Columbus State University (36-15) in impressive fashion, 3-1 Friday afternoon in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Tournament.
Junior righty Sabrina Chandler (Covington, Ga.) was stellar, allowing just a lone run in the complete game win. Chandler scattered four hits and walked none.
Catcher Anna Parker (Columbus, Ga.) delivered the go-ahead hit, plating two Bobcats in the top of the fifth inning. GC would tack on one more insurance run in the top of the sixth, making the score 3-1.
Georgia College will be back on the field tonight at 6:30 p.m. as they take on No. 2-seed Armstrong Atlantic in the winner's bracket of the PBC Tournament.
