MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College & State University softball coaching staff will hold a clinic Saturday, Nov, 21 for high school juniors and seniors.
The clinic will consist of a morning session from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and an afternoon session beginning at 2 p.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. The morning session is for positions players, while the afternoon segment is geared toward pitchers and catchers. Pitchers are highly encouraged to bring their own catcher if possible, but a catcher will be provided if needed.
The cost of the clinic is $75 for one session and $125 for those who participate in both. Lunch will not be provided for those attending both the morning and the afternoon sections.
With three coaches on staff, Bobcat softball is constantly recruiting all over the state, region and country. This clinic will give the coaching staff the opportunity to see many potential recruits. It will also give the athletes a chance to see the newly renovated Peeler Complex softball field and learn from an experienced coaching staff. Both offensive and defensive skills will be instructed.
Last spring, Georgia College softball squad had a record-breaking 2009 campaign, powering their way to their fourth-straight 30-win season and fourth-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Bobcats finished 32-24 with a 12-6 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) mark, good for second place and matching the best PBC finish by any Bobcat softball team.
