“Family Field of Dreams Day” Celebrates Bobcat Pride with an Afternoon of Festivities

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – In support of Bobcat Softball, Georgia College & State University “Family Field of Dreams Day” will engage the Milledgeville area and Baldwin County community through an afternoon of fun-filled festivities beginning at noon Saturday, April 3 at Peeler Complex on GCSU’s West Campus.

At the start of the games, Bobcat Athletics will recognize 13 youth softball players from within the Milledgeville community as they walk onto the field with the Bobcat Softball team.

Bobcat Softball (11-28, 3-11 PBC) will take on Flagler College (24-18, 6-6 PBC) with a doubleheader at noon, and Bobcat Baseball (20-10, 9-3 PBC) hosts Alumni Day as they take on Georgia Southwestern State University (19-8, 8-4 PBC) with a doubleheader at 1 p.m.

Festivities will take place throughout the afternoon of athletics, and will include the following:

• Bobcat Easter Egg Hunt at 3:30 p.m.

• Face painting

• Easter-themed games for kids throughout both games

The Mean in Green event will also include a banner contest with a $75 prize for first place! Any group can submit a Bobcat Softball-themed banner to enter.

The GCSU Department of Athletics, winners of the 2008-09 PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 10 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level.
