Georgia College Men’s Cross Country Picked Sixth

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia College Men’s Cross Country was selected to finish sixth in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Preseason Coaches poll released Thursday.

The Bobcats were picked fifth in the poll last year and went on to finish fifth in the PBC Championships. Columbus State University was picked first in the preseason poll last year, but were slotted second this year.

Augusta State University won the PBC Championships a year ago and were picked to finish first this year. ASU received eight first place votes, with Columbus State and UNC Pembroke also receiving one each.

The Bobcats will sport a new look in 2012 season after having six seniors on the team in 2011. With just three returners, the Bobcat will rely heavily upon a solid crop of newcomers.

Georgia College will start its season at home Friday, Aug. 31 with the Bobcat Invitational. The Bobcats will compete in five events before the PBC Championships in Montevallo, Ala. Oct. 20.
