Laskey Chosen Capital One Academic All-District
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) recently announced the Academic All-District Teams for Track and Field and Cross Country, with Georgia College junior Philip Laskey (Marietta, Ga.) earning a spot on the District 3 squad.
Laskey owns a 3.65 in physics at Georgia College, and led the Bobcats in all six races this season. The junior picked up three top-25 finishes.
District 3 includes all colleges and universities from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), Conference Carolinas and South Atlantic Conference.
Players named to Academic All-District teams are now eligible for the Academic All-America Team.
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
