Men’s Cross Country Finishes Season at Regionals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Georgia College men's cross country team made the trip to north to the NCAA Southeast Regional Race Saturday, Nov. 3 in Charlotte, N.C. The young Bobcat harriers came in 14th of 26 teams.

 Junior Philip Laskey (Marietta, Ga.) finished 56th of the 168 runners in the 10K race with a time of 34:06. Freshman Paul McNiel (Dunwoody, Ga.) would come in right behind Laskey at 57th, with a time of 34:07. The finishes are good for seventh and eighth in GC history for 10K races.

Freshman James Ryden (Atlanta) placed 74th with a time of 34:37. Junior Tucker Forbes (Lilburn, Ga.) with a time of 35:11, which was good for 89th place. 

The fifth and sixth finishing Bobcats were only separated by three seconds. Freshmen Michael Valerio (Evans, Ga.) and Dylan Price (Buford, Ga.) had respective times of 36:18 and 36:21. Valerio rounded out the scoring for the Bobcats with a 121st place finish and Price came in 123rd.

The Southeast Regionals brings the 2012 season to an end for the Bobcats. The season was highlighted by the team finishing seventh or better in four of their races, as well as Laskey making the PBC All-Academic team and Forbes earning an honorable mention.
