NEW ORLEANS – A pair of Georgia College men’s cross country stars were recognized for their dedication both on and off the course Friday, as seniors Dan Horseman (Cohutta, Ga.) and Tyler Mattix (Snellville, Ga.) were named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.

The duo led the Bobcats in every race this season, as Mattix led the team in four races while Horseman carried the load in three.

Mattix and Horseman were each named to the All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Second Team, with Mattix also being tabbed the first All-Southeast Region runner in school history.

Both Horseman and Mattix rewrote the Georgia College record books, as the pair owns seven of the Top-10 8K times in school history, while also recording the top four 10K times in GC history.

Horseman, a four-year star for the Bobcats, will be graduating with a dual major in Outdoor Education and Psychology.

A transfer from North Georgia, Mattix will graduate with a degree in Environmental Science.
