Georgia College Men’s Cross Country Slotted Fourth in PBC Poll

MARTINEZ, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) office announced the Preseason Men’s Cross Country Coaches Poll Thursday, with Georgia College & State University taking fourth.

The Bobcats battled injuries all season in 2009, pulling things together for a solid season, nabbing three top-five finishes including a fifth-place spot at the PBC Championships. Senior Tim Cary (Monroe, Ga.) returns after leading the team at three races, aided by experienced juniors Rob Manning (Lawrenceville, Ga.) and Colin Conroy (Dacula, Ga.).

Defending PBC Champion Columbus State University earned the top spot in the poll, with Clayton State University in second. UNC Pembroke was third, with Augusta State University rounding out the top five. Georgia College got one third-place vote.

The Bobcats start the 2010 campaign at home, hosting the Bobcat Invitational Friday, Sept. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
