SAN ANTIONIO - The Georgia College & State University men's cross country team took third place tonight (Sept. 18) at the Ricardo Romo UTSA Six Flags Fiesta Texas Classic. Senior Josh Hollar (Canton, Ga.) led the Bobcats for the second time in as many meets this season.
Hollar just missed a top-10 finish, taking 11th overall in 16:18 on the 5k course. Just five spots behind was junior Tim Cary (Monroe, Ga.) finishing in 16:39.
Sophomores had the next three slots for Georgia College, all in the top-25. Colin Conroy (Dacula, Ga.) was 20th at 16:43, with Rob Manning (Lawrenceville, Ga.) 21st at 17:02, and Travis Knight (Oxford, Ga.) owning 22nd overall in 17:13.
Division I host University of Texas-San Antonio took the team title with just 19 points, and Texas A&M-Kingsville was second at 83 points. The Bobcats were just seven points behind the Javelinas of the Division II Lone Star Conference. UTSA's Cole Reveal took individual honors in 15:23.
The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Sept. 26 at Mercer RunFit Sports Invitational in Macon, Ga.
