MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - Freshman runner Rob Manning (Lawrenceville, Ga.) of the Georgia College & State University men's cross country team was named GCSU Athlete of the Week, the sports information office announced today (Oct. 28). The award honors the top performance by a Bobcat during the week ending Oct. 26. This is the first such honor for Manning and the Bobcat men's cross country team this season.
Pacing the Bobcats and finishing two slots from All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) status was Manning. He led the Bobcat harriers at the PBC Championships, finishing 12th overall in 28:48. The Bobcats took third, the second-best finish in program history. Manning has been on a roll as of late, leading the Bobcats in the last three meets, and four overall this season.
Manning and the rest of the Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Nov. 8 at Wingate University for the NCAA Southeast Region Championship.
