Bobcat Men’s Tennis’ Southeast Regional Run Comes to an End

SUMTER, S.C. – The Georgia College Men's Tennis team had their ITA Southeast Regional Small College/Oracle Championship run come to an end Saturday, when the last of the Bobcat competitors dropped tough matches.

In the open singles bracket Matt Rogel (Sautron, France) fell to top-seeded Kiranpal Pannu from Columbus State University, 6-2, 6-3. The Bobcat junior had a strong tournament showing, winning two matchups against solid opponents earlier in the week.

Rogel found more success in doubles paired with Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany), as they qualified for the quarterfinals. Although they fought hard, the Georgia College pairing was beaten 6-0 by Columbus State's Matei Avram and Pannu.

The Bobcat men return to the court Saturday, Oct. 13 when they host the two-day Fall Championship event at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
