#41 GC Men’s Tennis Edged by #6 Flagler, 6-3

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 41 Georgia College Men's Tennis team (8-6, 3-1 PBC) took the fight to No. 6 Flagler College (16-5, 5-2 PBC) snagging three singles wins, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats fell 6-3 in Peach Belt Conference (PBC) action at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.

The Saints jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles. In the first line No. 8 Lukas Storck and Konstantin Dustmann beat Jannik Kumbier (Neumunster, Germany) and Robin Moller (Hamburg, Germany) 8-6. Pedro Ecenarro (Santiago de Compostella, Spain) and Enzo Kohn (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) dropped a hard-fought 9-8 battle to Felipe Carvalho and Daniel Arrien in the second slot. Alexander Chepik and Rasmus Jonsson completed the sweep with an 8-6 win in third doubles over Gabriel Caron (Johns Creek) and Noah Wallace (Grayson).

The Bobcats started their comeback in singles play, as Kumbier got the first finish, getting his 10th victory of the season by dropping Chepik 6-3, 7-5 on the second line. Next came a Flagler win in fourth singles, as Carvalho upset No. 57 Kohn 6-0, 6-1. In the match's lone ranked bout, No. 29 Ecenarro beat No. 13 Luca Bolla 6-3, 6-7, 6-4. The victory was the second for Ecenarro over ranked competition this season.

The Saints clinched the team bout in fifth singles, where Dustmann beat Wallace in a pair of 6-4 sets. Moller improved to 9-2 when he beat Storck 4-6, 6-2 and 7-6 and the Saints finished the day with a sixth singles win, when Arrien beat Caron 1-6, 6-3, 10-6.

The Bobcats are back in action Friday, March 30 at 1 p.m., playing host to No. 21 Francis Marion University.
