Powell Named PBC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

MARTINEZ, Ga. – Sophomore Taylor Powell (Martinez, Ga.) has been named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week. Powell was one of only two Bobcats to win both their singles and doubles match for No. 18 Georgia College.
He defeated Fabio Ferrauti of Flagler College in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 in his singles match in the third slot. He also won his doubles match against Flagler with freshman partner Anton Waern (Taby, Sweden). The pairing defeated Ferrauti and Landaluce by a score of 8-4 in the second slot. Powell and Waern are now 5-1 in doubles this season.
It has now been back-to-back weeks that a Georgia College men's tennis player has taken home PBC honors after Waern was named PBC Men's Player of the Week the week of Feb. 25.
The Georgia College men's tennis team (4-2) returns to action Thursday, March 6 against the University of Findlay in Hilton Head, S.C. at 11 a.m.
