Men’s Tennis Rained out Saturday, Finishes Play Sunday

ATHENS, Ga. - The three Georgia College men’s tennis players at the 45th Annual Southern Intercollegiate Championships had to wait until Sunday to play their consolation bracket matchups.

Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) took the court against Anish Sharma of Georgia Tech. Andersson fell 6-1 in the first set before losing in a tighter second set, 6-4.

With the rain out on Saturday, many matchups in the consolation bracket were not played on Sunday. Tyler Franks (Greensboro, Ga.) was involved in one of the unplayed pairings Sunday.

Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) was the most successful Bobcat Sunday, taking a victory in three sets. Wadstein defeated Ethan Wilkinson of Mississippi State University 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(10-7).

The Bobcats will head home and prepare for the rest of the Fall season. GC Men’s Tennis will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 14 when they host the Georgia College Fall Championships.
