SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Georgia College men's tennis team (14-3) was ranked No. 17 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Team Rankings. The team also earned the No. 5 spot in the most recent ITA Regional Rankings.
The Bobcats improved one position from the last national ranking while maintaining the No. 5 position in the region.
Senior Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) is the No. 48 singles player in the nation and No. 11 in the Southeast Region. Andreas Ainalides (Heusenstamm, Germany) ranks No. 15 in the regional ranking. Wadstein has 12 wins while playing in the No. 1 slot all year, while Ainalides also has 12 wins playing out of the No. 2 singles position.
Other Peach Belt Conference (PBC) teams that are in the top-20 include Armstrong, Lander University, Columbus State University and Augusta State University, who all rank in the ahead of Georgia College in the regional rankings.
The men's tennis team will return to the court Saturday, March 30 at 11 a.m. when No. 27 Francis Marion University comes to the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
