Bernardes went 1-0 in singles action and 1-1 in doubles play at the NCAA Southeast Regional #1 last week. Competing at third singles, the senior dispatched of Francis Marion University’s Gavin Davison 6-4, 6-3, clinching the 5-2 win to advance GC to the region final. Bernardes also teamed with Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) for an 8-4 win over FMU’s second doubles team. In the 5-0 loss to No. 1 Armstrong, Bernardes and Andersson gave the Pirates their toughest fight of the day, an 8-6 loss at second doubles.
