MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 15 Georgia College men's tennis team (2-1, 0-1 PBC) grabbed a victory at the No. 2 doubles slot, but were unable to muster much else as they fell to No. 3 Armstrong University 8-1 Wednesday afternoon at the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
This would mark the only Bobcat victory of the day as Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) fell at the No. 1 slot, 8-3 against Mike Irdoja and Georgi Rumenov.
In singles, Wadstein battled Irdoja at the No. 2 slot but fell just short 6-3, 6-3 while Leborgne also put up a good fight with Rumenov, 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 1 position.
At No. 3 singles Bernardes fell to Mydla 6-1, 6-1 with Alex Schubert (Frankfurt, Germany) dropping his match by the same score to Scocuglia the No. 5.
Konyves struggled against Sven Lalia at the No. 4 slot, dropping his match 6-1, 6-0.
In a suspended match at the No. 6 single position, Franks lost 6-4, 4-3 to Jean-Michel Blouin.
The Bobcat men will look to get back on the right track when they host No. 12 Flagler College Saturday, Feb. 25 at noon from the Centennial Center Tennis Facility.
