Men’s Tennis Announces 2011 Spring Schedule

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College men’s tennis and head coach Steve Barsby are pleased to announce the 2011 spring schedule. The schedule includes 11 of the top-25 teams in the nation.

The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) will be tough as always this season with seven of the teams ranked in the top-25, the Bobcats being ranked No. 12.

The Bobcats open up their 2011 stint against Morehouse College Saturday, Feb. 5 in Atlanta at 1 p.m. They follow that up with their first PBC match of the season at No. 25 USC Aiken set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13 the Bobcats face off against No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah, Ga. at 1 p.m.

GC comes back to Milledgeville for their first home match against No. 19 Augusta State University at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25. The Bobcats then travel to No. 1 Barry University Sunday, Feb. 27 at 12 p.m.

Georgia College travels up to No. 14 Francis Marion University Friday, March 4 for a 1 p.m. start. GC comes back home for their second home match Wednesday, March 9 to face off against North Georgia. Back on the road again, the Bobcats travel to Lander University Friday, March 11 at 2 p.m.

The men take their spring break trip down to Pensacola, Fla. for the White Sands Invitational which takes place from March 23 – 27. GC will face off against No. 8 University of West Florida, No. 18 Drury University, No. 44 Delta State University and No. 43 University of North Alabama.

The next two out of three matches are at home for the Bobcats. Saturday, April 2 the Bobcats face off against Georgia Southwestern at 1 p.m. GC then travels to No. 9 Columbus State University for a 1 p.m. start. The Bobcats return home for their season finale against No. 17 Flagler College at 2 p.m.  

The PBC Championships are set for April 15 – 17 in Augusta and the NCAA Tournament starts May 5.
