#9 Bobcats Stomp Erskine, 8-1

DUE WEST, S.C. – The No. 9 Georgia College men's tennis team (9-4) grabbed their second-straight win, grounding the Flying Fleet of Erskine College (2-11) in an 8-1 drubbing Friday.
The Bobcats quickly jumped out in front 2-1 in doubles. Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) got GC started off, toppling James Hoatson and Fabio Ciarocchi, 8-3. Leo Bernardes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Tyler Franks (Greensboro, Ga.) took care of Christian Ranquelov and Jack West, 8-2. Tobias Rausch (Mannheim, Germany) and Robert Angelucci (Acworth, Ga.) were edged out by Angelo Ciarocchi and Vincent Chauvette, 9-7.
GC swept the singles portion of the afternoon, 6-0. Leborgne played in the No. 1 spot and downed Angelo Ciarocchi, 6-1, 6-1. Wadstein steamrolled Ranquelov in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1 and Rausch did the same to Fabio Ciarocchi, 6-0, 6-1. Wadstein improves to 8-4 on the season and Rausch holds the team high with nine wins on the season.
The Bobcats continued to roll over Erskine in the bottom three singles matches. Bernardes edged past West in the first set, 7-5 but blew him out in the second set 6-1. Chauvette was the next Bobcat victim as he fell to Franks, 6-2, 6-2. Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) closed out the day for the Bobcats dropping Hoatson in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
The Bobcats will travel to Pensacola, Fla. on their annual spring break trip to play in the White Sands Invitational hosted by the University of West Florida. The GC men will start with the No. 5 Argos on their home turf Wednesday, March 23 at 2 p.m. The No. 30 GC women will also take on No. 5 UWF.
