#11 Bobcat Tennis Sweeps Morehouse, 9-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The No. 11 Georgia College & State University men's tennis team (1-0) dominated Morehouse College 9-0 today (Feb. 6) in the season-opener at the Centennial Center Tennis Complex.
Sophomore Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) and freshman Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) took Morehouse's Ben Seagle and Michael Cutrer 8-1 in first doubles, while in the second slot Joao Casagrande (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Tyler Franks (Eatonton, Ga.) beat Mario Ecung and Michael Thomas 9-7. Seniors Max Beliankou (Minsk, Belarus) and Giovane Nucci (Santa Catarina, Brazil) closed out the doubles nearly blanking Dewayne Dixon and Jordan Bailey 8-1, putting Georgia College up 3-0 going singles competition.
Leborgne kept things going overpowering Seagle 6-0 and 6-3 in the No. 1 singles spot, while Wadstein snagged a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Ecung. At third singles, Beliankou shut-out Cutrer, as did sophomore Leo Bernardes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) against Thomas, giving the Bobcats a 7-0 advantage over the Maroon Tigers.
Veteran Nucci easily took down Michael Steward at fifth singles 6-1, 6-0, while freshman Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) beat Dixon 7-5, 6-0 in sixth singles, as the team improves to 1-0 for the 2010 campaign.
The Bobcats are back in action Thursday, Feb. 11 as they host No. 4 Valdosta State University at 2 p.m.
