#11 Georgia College Mens Tennis Blanks Tuskegee, 9-0

MACON, Ga. – The No. 11 Georgia College & State University men’s tennis team (8-4) downed Tuskegee University 9-0 Friday, collecting its fourth shutout of the 2010 season.
At first doubles, Georgia College senior Max Beliankou (Minsk, Belarus) teamed with Bobby Angelucci (Acworth, Ga.) to defeat Tuskegee’s David Mohammed and Elijah Pugh 8-0. Slotted second, Bobcats Leo Bernardes (Sao, Paulo, Brazil) and Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) went the distance against Marko Jagodic and Miles Narnor, beating the Golden Tigers 8-2. Georgia College won third doubles by default, giving the Bobcats a 3-0 lead.
In singles play, Beliankou swept Mohammed in a pair of 6-0 sets, improving to 9-2 on the season. The rest of the Bobcat pack followed suit as Bernardes shutout Jagodic at second singles, while Anderson and Tyler Franks (Eatonton, Ga.) defeated Narnor and Pugh, respectively. Georgia College claimed the fifth and sixth spots by default.
The Bobcats are back in action Wednesday, March 24 against No. 41 University of North Alabama, traveling to Pensacola, Fla. for the White Sands Tournament.
