SAVANNAH, Ga. - The No. 11 Georgia College & State University men's tennis team (5-4) dropped its second-straight match, falling 5-0 Saturday against No. 4 Lynn University (7-2) at Armstrong Atlantic State University.
At first doubles, Georgia College's No. 16 ranked pair of Joao Casagrande (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) lost 8-1 to Alessandro Sarra and Willi Wolfer. Slotted second, the Fighting Knights' No. 5-ranked Luca Pavanelli and Alex Voirin defeated Bobcat seniors Giovane Nucci (Santa Catarina, Brazil) and Max Beliankou (Minsk, Belarus) 8-6, while George Laffey and Tomas Racak outlasted Leo Bernardes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) in a 9-7 battle. Lynn held a 3-0 advantage after doubles play.
In singles action, Wadstein fell 6-4 and 6-1 to No. 19 ranked Tomas Racak at the second slot, while Wolfer shut out Nucci in 6-0 sets.
The Bobcats are back in action Sunday, March 7, traveling to No. 16 Flagler College for a noon start.
