#11 Bobcats Crash Flying Fleet, 9-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The No. 11 Georgia College & State University men's tennis team (2-1) shutout Erskine College (0-1) 9-0 Tuesday (Feb. 16) at the Centennial Center Tennis Complex.
In doubles action, Jerome Leborgne (Coordimanche, France) and Johan Wadstein (Helsingborg, Sweden) defeated the Flying Fleet's Caleb Barnes and Angelo Ciarrocchi 8-6 in the first slot. Senior Joao Casagrande (Sao Paulo, Brazil) teamed with freshman Tyler Franks (Eatonton, Ga.) to take down Nemanja Brcan and James Hoatson 8-5 in No. 2 doubles. The senior duo of Max Beliankou (Minsk, Belarus) and Giovane Nucci (Santa Catarina, Brazil) overwhelmed Fabio Ciarrocchi and Vincent Chauvette 8-1, giving the Bobcats a 3-0 advantage.
All of the singles bouts were straight-set wins for the Bobcats. Slotted first in singles, Leborgne beat Brcan 7-5 and 6-1, while Wadstein overpowered Barnes 6-3 and 6-1. In No. 3 singles, Beliankou won 6-2 and 6-0 over Angelo, while Nucci swept Fabio 6-0, 6-0. Georgia College's Wictor Andersson (Karlskoga, Sweden) took down Chauvette 6-1 and 6-4 in the fifth spot, while Franks defeated Hoatson 7-5 and 6-2.
The Bobcats are back in action Thursday, Feb. 18 as they travel to No. 15 Lees-McRae College with a start time of 2 p.m.
