MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -  Senior Isaac Thomas (Trion) reached the 1,000-point mark as part of a big 18-point, 16-rebound day as the Georgia College Men's Basketball team (5-4) beat Albany State University (3-6) 72-54 Saturday at the Centennial Center.

Thomas netted 18 points on 5-for-9 from the floor and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. The senior's 1,000th career point came at the 16:28 mark in the first half when he knocked down two free throws. Thomas added 16 boards for his second double-double this season. The former point guard at Trion High also had a team-best six assists.

Junior Kohl Roberts (Atlanta) had 10 points to join Thomas in double-digit scoring.

The Bobcats got great bench production, as all 11 players that got into the game reached the scoring column. The bench surge was led by eight points from sophomore Justin Cave (Savannah) and four from classmate Chandler Wright (Cumming).

Georgia College went 10-for-27 from behind the arc, the most makes from long distance since knocking down 17 in the second game of the season against North Greenville University.

The Bobcats also led from start to finish, starting on an 8-0 run and not allowing the Golden Rams in the game from that point on. Georgia College's largest lead came in the final three minutes, when Jordan Sterling (Lithonia) drained a three-pointer for a 67-47 advantage.

Thomas is the 15th member of the 1,000-point club for GC Men's Basketball, and the seventh in the NCAA era. Up next is 14th place, owned by Stan Lynn (1990) at 1,086. Thomas' rebounding total moved to 757 in his career tonight, passing assistant coach Ryan Aquino (2012) into third place all-time.

With the win, the Bobcats sweep the season series against the Golden Rams after beating them 71-65 in Albany in November.

The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m., traveling to Division I College of Charleston for an exhibition matchup.
