The GC Men's Basketball team had a successful 2016-17 season. The Bobcats won 15 of their 28 games and finished just out of playoff contention in the Peach Belt Conference's (PBC) West Division. With 13 new Bobcats and only four returners, the Bobcats came together quickly as a team and helped elevate Georgia College to a winning season for the second consecutive year. The Blue and Green lose just two seniors to graduation – guard Mark McCorkle (Cumming) and forward Kelvin Nwanze (Lagos, Nigeria).
The Georgia College Department of Athletics, two-time winners of the PBC Commissioner's Cup, sponsors 11 varsity athletic programs at the NCAA Division II level. As a Division II program, Bobcat Athletics prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the teams' multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
