AUGUSTA, Ga – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) has recently named Georgia College sophomore Isaac Thomas (Trion) to the PBC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team for the 2016-2017 season. The honor is meant to recognize the exceptional efforts of Peach Belt student-athletes on the court as well as in the academic realm.
On the court, Thomas contributes by leading the team in rebounds, averaging eight per game. He is also the second-leading scorer for the Bobcats, averaging just over 10 points per contest. In the classroom, the sophomore is majoring in accounting and boasts an impressive 3.59 GPA.
The requirements to be considered for the superlative are: participate in half of their team's events as a starter or significant contributor, have a GPA of at least a 3.30 and complete a minimum of one academic year at their current institution.
Since the inception of the program, 13 Bobcat Men's Basketball players have taken in the honor.
The GC Men's Basketball team is currently 14-11 (8-8 PBC) and will compete against Clayton State University for Homecoming Saturday, Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m.
