MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College's Men's Basketball team (14-11, 8-8 PBC) sophomore stand-out Isaac Thomas (Trion) took his first Bobcat Athlete of the Week award this season for his outstanding performances during the week ending Feb. 12.

Thomas had a week full of double-digit scoring. He broke into the 20s for the second time this year against the University of Montevallo Wednesday where he netted 21 points and had five rebounds. Thomas went 3-for-3 past the arc and 8-of-10 from the floor against the Falcons as well. The sophomore forward also combined for 29 points in the other two games this week. First, he scored 13 in the one-point victory over the Columbus State University Cougars. He also had six rebounds in that Monday night game. Saturday, Thomas helped the Bobcats secure their 14th win of the season with 16 points and nine rebounds. He lit up the scoreboard in the second half, adding 14 points in the second half alone. He also was nearly perfect from the foul line, missing only one of 11 shots against the Young Harris College Mountain Lions.

Though not included in the ballot, Thomas put up his fifth double-digit scoring game Monday night against the University of North Georgia Nighthawks. His first rebound of the night garnered him his 400th career board. He also reached his 500th-point plateau against the Nighthawks. Thomas finished the night with a team-topping 16 points and 14 rebounds.

The Bobcats are headed up to Americus Wednesday as they hope for a season sweep against the Georgia Southwestern State University Hurricanes. Tip-off in the Canes' gym is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Follow the action live on GCBobcats.com and Country 102.3 FM.
