COLUMBUS, Ga. – A double-double by freshman Kohl Roberts (Atlanta) was not enough to lead Georgia College Men's Basketball (9-7, 3-4 PBC) over the Columbus State University Cougars (12-4, 5-4 PBC), falling 74-59 on the road Wednesday.

The Bobcats got the lead right out of the gates and held it until the Cougars made a run of their own and tied up the contest at the 14-minute mark.  The remainder of the half was high-energy basketball with the two teams trading points up until the halftime buzzer. The first half consisted of nine lead changes and six ties, leaving the Bobcats with a one-point deficit heading into the break.

Georgia College was unable to keep pace with Columbus State at the start of the second half allowing the Cougars to go on an 18-7 run to break their lead open to 12 points with 13 minutes remaining in the contest.  The Cougars maintained their steady play throughout the remainder of the second to ultimately defeat the Bobcats.

Georgia College's Roberts had a career night, recording his first career double-double with a career high 22 points and 11 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and one steal. Behind him in scoring for the Bobcats Wednesday night was senior Mark McCorkle (Cumming) coming off the bench shooting 60 percent from behind the arc in tallying 11 points along with two rebounds.

The Bobcats hope to get back on track at home in the Centennial Center when they host the University of Montevallo Falcons Saturday, Jan. 21 at 3:30 p.m.
