Albany, Ga. – The Georgia College Men's Basketball team (3-2) tallied their third consecutive victory Tuesday night, defeating the Albany State University Golden Rams (1-4) on the road, 63-49.

The Bobcats set the tone for the game starting the contest with a 22-5 run through the first seven minutes. Junior Mark McCorkle (Cumming) was the spark plug during the early run, knocking down a pair of threes and free throws. McCorkle was the leading scorer for Georgia College putting up a career-high 19 points along with two assists.

Georgia College maintained their comfortable lead of 31-11 at the seven minute mark until Albany State countered with a big run of their own. The Golden Rams scored 16 unanswered points in the final minutes of the first half to head into the break trailing 31-27.

Albany State cut their deficit to just one point at the 15 minute mark in the second half, but that was as close as they would get for the remainder of the evening. Once their lead was cut to one, the Bobcats went on a 16-4 run to given them a 13 point advantage with 11 minutes remaining.  That 13 point lead was plenty of cushion for the Bobcat defense to seal the victory, only allowing the Rams to get within eight points for the rest of the night.

Junior Isaac Thomas (Trion) had a solid night for Georgia College, just one bucket short of a double-double collecting 10 rebounds, with eight points, two assists and a block.  The other returning starter for the Bobcats sophomore Chaz Berry (Fayetteville) also had a nice night posting eight points with four steals and three rebounds.
