AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Presidential Honor Roll recipients, with 80 Georgia College student-athletes making the list. The program honors all student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the 2011-12 academic year.

Milledgeville, Ga. — Last season, the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) rivalry between Georgia College and Augusta State University was dubbed ‘Battle of the Cats,’ in reference to the two universities respective mascots, the Bobcats and the Jaguars. This year, the two teams will meet again in Milledgeville on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Georgia College’s Centennial Center.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – It took overtime, but the Georgia College men’s basketball team (6-2, 0-1 PBC) dropped its Peach Belt Conference (PBC) opener at North Georgia (5-4, 1-0 PBC) 53-52 Wednesday. A big North Georgia steal by Scott Windom on the final possession in overtime sealed the victory.

The Bobcats led throughout, dominating the glass 47-25 and getting three double-digit scoring efforts from their three seniors.
