Georgia College Men’s Basketball Signs Polyne
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The Georgia College men’s basketball program and head coach Terry Sellers announced the signing of Matt Polyne.
Polyne, a 6-foor-2 combo guard, comes to Georgia College from Pope High School in Marietta, Ga. Polyne averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.
“Matt is exactly what we were looking for in a student-athlete here at Georgia College,” said Sellers. He is smart, works hard and can play both the point guard and shooting guard positions. We expect Matt to come in and contribute immediately. We are excited Matt has chosen to continue his collegiate career at Georgia College.”
Pope, under head coach Pat Abney, went 19-7 this past season. The Greyhounds won the Campbell High School Holiday Classic where Polyne was named Most Valuable Player.
He finished his career with over 1,500 points and is Pope’s third all-time leading scorer.
