GC Men’s Basketball Tabbed Seventh in PBC Preseason Coaches Poll

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Georgia College men’s basketball team finds itself No. 7 in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Preseason Coaches Poll, released recently from the conference office in Augusta, Ga.
The Bobcats garnered 84 total points, ranking anywhere from fourth to eighth, slightly behind USC Aiken with 90 points.
The Hurricanes from Georgia Southwestern State University were named the overwhelming favorite in the conference, earning 10 of the possible 12 first-place votes.
UNC Pembroke, Augusta State University and Clayton State University followed in order, each taking one first-place vote.
Getting the fifth-place nod was the University of Montevallo with 97 points, followed by USC Aiken and Georgia College.
The ‘Cats ended the 2010-11 season with a 16-10 overall record and 10-7 mark in the PBC, earning a tie for second in the PBC West Divison.
Georgia College kicks-off the season Friday, Nov. 11 in the Mom Reeves Basketball Tournament against Lee University in Newberry, S.C. The first conference matchup takes place in just a few weeks, as the Bobcats travel to Dahlonega, Ga. to take on North Georgia Wednesday, Dec. 14.
